Ten Scientific Theories Foretold

There are many, many more examples but here are ten times the scriptures predicted the scientific theory:

NUMBER ONE

SCRIPTURE: Around 700 BC, Isaiah defined the stretching outward of the universe. Isaiah 40:22, “It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, . . ; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:” (Also Genesis 1:3, Moses 7:30, Psalms 104:2.)

SCIENCE: In 1981 cosmologists introduced the theory of inflation which states for less than a millionth of a trillionth of a trillionth of a second after the universe’s birth, an exotic form of matter exerted a counterintuitive force. “It only has to be a speck,” Alan Guth, Big Bang theoretical physicist and cosmologist, “But when that speck starts to inflate, the expansion is exponential.” Thus creating a universe for us to dwell in.

NUMBER TWO

SCRIPTURE: Anciently the New Testament told about a special everlasting record. Matthew 10:30, “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Revelation 20:12, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life:”

SCIENCE: DNA is a type of alphabetical numbering system, the carrier of our personal and genetic information. Biologist James Watson and physicist Francis Crick discovered DNA in the 1950s or perhaps Fredrich Miescher, chemist, in 1860s. Still it was a long time after scripture suggested this built in amazing record keeping system.

NUMBER THREE

SCRIPTURE: Biblical scholars, in the 13th century BC, recorded Genesis as the first book ever written. Genesis 2:7, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

SCIENCE: It wasn’t until the early 18th century AD we began to have an understanding of chemistry and elements. Only then did we realize elements found in dust of the ground make up the physical human body.

NUMBER FOUR

SCRIPTURE: John the Revelator writes about the power of four beasts. In his day ‘beast’ could represent power. Revelation 6:1, “And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, and one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.” There is a lot of symbolism in this scripture, the Lamb is the Savior and perhaps the seal the dimensions or periods of time, ‘thunder’ gravity, ‘come and see’ electromagnetism, such as visible light, and obviously the four beasts represent the four forces of nature.

SCIENCE: The four forces of nature are considered to have been discovered in the following order: gravity 1687, electromagnetic force 1814, weak nuclear force 1933, and the strong nuclear force 1935. The Prophet John knew there were four beastly strong forces a long time earlier.

NUMBER 5

SCRIPTURE: Elijah appeared to travel through a wormhole. 2 Kings 2:11, ” . . . there appeared a chariot of fire, and horse of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.”

SCIENCE: In 1928, Hermann Weyl proposed a wormhole hypothesis. Wormhole is a speculative structure linking incongruent points in space-time, and is based on a special solution of the Einstein field equations. Many people who have a near death experience recall moving quickly through a bright tunnel.

NUMBER SIX

SCRIPTURE: Joshua 24:15, ” . . . choose you this day whom ye will serve; . . . as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” The scriptures are full of references to the blessing of agency and choice. Psalm 143:10, “Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me unto the land of uprightness.”

SCIENCE: The uncertainty principle was first introduced in 1927 by German physicist Werner Heisenberg. It is an measurement problem that arises from the intimate connection between the wave and particle nature of quantum objects. The more you understand the position of a particle the less you can predict its momentum and vice versa. Roger Penrose, Nobel Laureate in Physics, claims that brains function according to interactions at quantum levels. If will is directed by an individual by quantum effects this would allow for choice and agency.

NUMBER SEVEN:

SCRIPTURE: It seems our Creator knows all truth and we are still learning. It is amazing that we are aware of our existence and know that we will eventually physically die. Isaiah 55:9, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts, then your thoughts.”

SCIENCE: String theory was first studied in the 1960s as an elementary string that looks like an ordinary particle, with its mass, charge, and other properties determined by the vibrational state of the string. String theory is a study of quantum-mechanics. Quantum mind or quantum consciousness posits that quantum-mechanical phenomena, such as entanglement and superposition, may play an important part in the brain’s function and could explain consciousness.

NUMBER EIGHT:

SCRIPTURE: When we look at the night stars, we do not see the actual stars but the light left behind. Psalms 90:4, “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it has past, and a watch in the night.”

SCIENCE: In 1676, the Danish astronomer Ole Roemer became the first person to measure the speed of light.

NUMBER NINE:

SCRIPTURE: Colossians 1:16, “For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him.”

SCIENCE: The electromagnetic spectrum is the range of frequencies of electromagnetic radiation and their respective wavelengths and photon energies. Humans have always been aware of visible light. Not until 1666, with Newton’s help, did mankind begin to realize there might be invisible light. It was not until the 1800s that William Herschel accidently discovered infrared light.

NUMBER TEN:

SCRIPTURE: We know God formed physical living beings from the dust of the ground (elements) but not how as demonstrated by Ecclesiastes 11:5, “As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.” This scripture seems to indicate spiritual matter plays a great part.

SCIENCE: In 1859 Charles Darwin wrote On the Origin of Species, but he didn’t write about the origin of life. Sir Roger Penrose, Professor of Mathematics in the University of Oxford, suggested there are three great mysteries in the realms of mathematics, one of which is the mystery of the conscious experience. He said, “It’s not just a matter of complicated computations; there’s something much more subtle going on.” I would suggest that subtle something is deeper spiritual matter’s contribution. (See Read Out of the Best Books in this Website for all three Penrose mysteries.)

M. Kasey:

“Best way to enjoy this very unusual fictional life story and philosophy, Marty’s Dark Matter, is in paperback which allows you to return and mull over the words. Also it helps if you have an interest in the cosmos and are open to there being a Creator.”
