Michio Kaku, co-founder of string field theory and physicist, said the following regarding proof there is a God:

“I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence. To me, it is clear that we exist in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.”

In an article by Robby Berman in Culture and Religion, February 15, 2018, it is explained that both Kaku and Einstein recognized the order, harmony and simplicity of the universe. Kaku also points out that the universe could have been random, but that instead, “Our universe is rich; it is beautiful, elegant.” Kaku believes as physics advance things will get even simpler, “So, that’s the God of Einstein. The God of beauty, that says that the universe is simpler the more we study it.” www.bigthink.com

The following seems to reason there is a need for an intelligent organizer. But as Kaku reminds us, “Science is based on what is testable, reproducible, and falsifiable. That’s called ‘science.’ However, there are certain things that are not testable, not reproducible, and not falsifiable. And that would include the existence of God.”

Host: Welcome to our show today when we ask the big question– what was there before the Big Bang?

Host: Here to help us today with this interesting question is Scientist Susan and Religionist Rachel.

Religionist: Thank you. I am honored to be here today and on the same stage as a great scientist.

Scientist: I am glad to be here today and respect others opinions, but just to be clear–I believe religion is incompatible with good science.

Host: So, Susan let’s start with you, what is your understanding of what came before the Big Bang?

Scientist: Nothing. There is no past for it to emerge from. Our universe began from nothing.

Host: Pretty hard to believe everything began from nothing. Rachel, can you give us some enlightenment?

Religionist: I believe there has always been something even if we cannot see it. There is a scripture that suggests intelligences always existed. “Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made neither indeed can be.” (D&C 93:29)

Scientist: We do consider our universe might have come from vacuum energy or an earlier collapsed universe. But theory suggests that in the first lively second– gravity, electromagnetism, the strong nuclear force and weak nuclear force were produced.

Host: So how do you explain the bang of the Big Bang, what triggered the four forces and rapid inflation of waves of elementary particles?

Religionist: Moses tells us, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3) If a hypothesis suggests we came from an earlier universe, is it not possible there were earlier more intelligent beings that could trigger the rapid inflation of our universe?

Scientist: We look to evidence. We believe it is logical we are part of larger universes in different dimensions. It is true there had to be a transition phase where the universe went from something we cannot see to something we can see.

Religionist: This vacuum energy you speak of could be the intelligences of light and truth or as you might put it energy and mass but in different dimensions, we cannot see. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.”

Scientist: Creationism depends on the existence of a supernatural force and cannot be proven. According to Alan Guth’s theory in less than a trillionth of a trillionth of a trillionth of a second all four forces of nature appeared followed by waves of elementary particles.

Religionist: Moses knew about these waves of particles back in the 5th century BC, “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” (Genesis 1:6)

Scientist: As scientists, we work our way through theory to fact about the origin of the universe.

Religionist: Religion holds to questions of ultimate meaning and moral value for there to be a need for a universe.

Scientist: We exist because everything came together just right at just the right way and time to create us. It is just one of those things that might happen now and then.

Religionist: It is hard to believe that mankind has accomplished so much so quickly and everything began as an accident.

Host: Is it not possible science and religion need each other and the two disciplines have more in common than some might suppose?
